The Monroe County Education Coalition - represents more than 60,000 parents, education professionals, and school board members working together to increase community understanding of education issues and to encourage support for our region's public schools and BOCES.

Biz2Edu.com - Rochester Area Colleges, a consortium of 18 colleges and universities, is a major asset to the region's economic development efforts. Biz2edu.com provides economic development organizations, site selectors, corporations, and individuals a Web-based gateway to the multitude of resources provided by Rochester's academic institutions.

HEALTHCARE

RochesterHealth.com is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) community-focused online resource delivering local healthcare information. The site features a comprehensive directory of all healthcare providers in the six-county Rochester area and includes content provided by local physicians, dentists, hospitals, and allied-health professionals.  The website is endorsed by health organizations in the region and was developed for the local healthcare community to advance health awareness and access throughout Rochester, NY and surrounding areas.

MUSEUMS

George Eastman House International Museum - George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film houses one of the best and oldest cinematic collections in the world.

Strong National Museum of Play is home of the National Toy Hall of Fame and the world's most comprehensive collection of toys, dolls, and play-related artifacts. It's also as one of the top ten children's museums in the country (Child Magazine). 

The Memorial Art Gallery - provides the best-balanced collection in Upstate New York and hosts traveling exhibits from around the world. Recent exhibitions include the works of Maxfield Parrish and sculptures of Edgar Degas.

The Rochester Museum and Science Center - provides a wide range of hands-on activities for children and adults and is also home to the Strasenburgh Planetarium.

The Susan B. Anthony House - a museum with National Historic Landmark status. It was the home of the legendary American women's rights leader during the most politically active period of her life, and the site of her famous arrest for voting in 1872.

Other excellent representations of Rochester history are found at: National Women's Hall of Fame; Women's Rights National Historical Park; New York Museum of Transportation; Rochester and Genesee Valley Railroad Museum; Sodus Bay Historical Society Lighthouse Museum; Genesee Country Village and Museum.


MUSIC

Annual Rochester International Jazz Festival - Annual Rochester International Jazz Festival showcases big-name national stars, as well as many local musicians for a few weeks in June.

Annual Rochester MusicFest - Annual Rochester MusicFest features some of the country's most popular contemporary and legendary R&B performers.  The premier Rhythm & Blues festival in the northeast is held at Rochester's beautiful and scenic Genesee Valley Park in July.

Eastman School of Music - Eastman School of Music enjoys an international reputation and a top rank among music schools in the U.S.; graduates include several Pulitzer Prize and Grammy Award winners.

Hochstein School of Music and Dance - Hochstein School of Music and Dance, an 83 year-old community school, offers lessons and performances by local and visiting artists in its renovated concert hall.

Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra - founded by Eastman Kodak Company's George Eastman in 1922, performs for nearly 350,000 people annually.

ARTWalk - Rochester is home to the unique and creative ARTWalk, a 2,375 foot-long interactive urban art trail in the Neighborhood of the Arts.

Rochester lies at the heart of the "Best 100 Miles" of the Erie Canal, known as the Heritage Trail.

Monroe County parks - Monroe County has 21 parks covering 12,000 acres. Rochester's outstanding 3,500 urban acre parks and recreation system is nationally recognized. There are a total of 25 state parks and 132 state forests throughout the Finger Lakes Region.

LPGA - For the past 30 years, our region hosts the annual LPGA Rochester International Tournament (Locust Hill Country Club).

Rochester has Championship teams – Rochester Amerks (ice hockey); Rochester Red Wings (baseball); Rochester Rhinos (soccer); Rochester Knighthawks (indoor lacrosse); Rochester Rattlers (outdoor lacrosse); Buffalo Bills AFC football team within one hour's drive – 33% of Bills home game tickets are purchased in Rochester and summer training camp takes place at St. John Fisher College in Rochester.
