The International Business Council of Greater Rochester, NY Hosts First Annual Upstate NY Trade Conference
Event is May 11 - 13 at the Downtown Hyatt

4/13/2010

The International Business Council of Greater Rochester, NY (IBC), an affiliate of Greater Rochester Enterprise (GRE), is hosting the First Annual Upstate NY Trade Conference from May 11-13 at the Hyatt Regency downtown. Endorsed by the United States Department of Commerce and the District Export Council, the conference will provide Upstate NY businesses with the resources they need to succeed in international trade.

"As one of the top five exporting regions per capita in the United States, and number one in New York state, Rochester is the perfect place to host this inaugural trade conference," said IBC Executive Director Laurie DeRoller. "The event is on par with ones held in premier trade cities such as New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Companies who attend will get to network with the world's top international trade professionals and receive valuable updates on trade issues and regulations that will help their businesses grow."

Daily workshops and an exhibition of more than 20 businesses will focus on international trade importing and exporting fundamentals and training. The event concludes with the 19th Annual Trade Banquet on May 13, where David Koretz, president and CEO of Blue Tie, Inc. will deliver the keynote address.

"The Upstate NY Trade Conference will enhance the Rochester Region's premier position in the international trade industry," said GRE President and CEO Mark Peterson. "We excel in international trade because of our close proximity to major markets without the major market costs."
